Social Program

The social program will include a

Welcome Mixer on Sunday afternoon, 21 August, 6 o'clock pm

as well as on

Wednesday, 24 August, a sightseeing cruise followed by a conference dinner on a modern salon ship with panoramic view provided by the Saechsische Dampfschifffahrt, the oldest and biggest fleet of steamers in the world. The tour will last approx. four hours. During the tour you will have the opportunity to admire the city of Dresden with its magnificent palaces and unique surroundings from the River Elbe. The conference dinner will be served on board the elegant vessel.

Trip to Meissen by suburban train; guided tour around the museum and visit to demonstration workshop where you will have a perfect opportunity to learn about making Meissen porcelain as well as admire the masterpieces exhibited; possibility for lunch (not included in the fee), shopping in the museum shop or walking around the town; relaxing trip by paddle-steamer along the River Elbe with its picturesque banks and vineyards towards Dresden

Tour to Saxon Switzerland
We would like to offer you a journey by suburban train into this national park and a short hiking trip onto the Bastei. This rocky bridge with its formations overlooking Saxon Switzerland is one of the most known tourist attractions. The trip starts in the valley of the River Elbe and goes on a great trail upstairs about one hour (height difference of about 200 m). Though the trip is rather a walking tour you should have packed a pair of comfortable shoes and clothes. Do not forget to take a bottle of water!
Arrived on the platform you will admire the breathtaking panorama! There are also a couple of opportunities to stop for a rest and a bite to eat over the River Elbe.

Neues Grünes Gewölbe (New Green Vault) and Sightseeing Walk through Dresden City
The New Green Vault is located in the former Residenz Palace and fascinates its visitors by the largest collection of dizzying treasures in Europe.
The ticket also includes a visit to the Türckische Cammer (Turkish Chamber) – Unique collections of Ottoman art – and to the Prince's Gallery.
Afterwards you will be told by a professional guide some interesting facts about Dresden City and its regents.
