Background

Formed by the amalgamation of Moffis (France) and Filplas (UK), the first Eurofillers conference was held in Mulhouse, France 1995. It was an immediate success, well attended and with an impressive number of quality papers covering a wide span of topics. The next meeting organized in Manchester two years later continued the successful format and consolidated its position as the leading international conference for all aspects of short fiber and particulate filler research and development. Since then, six additional and very successful EUROFILLERS conferences were held in Lyon, Lodz, Alicante, Bruges, Zalakros, and Alessandria.

Scope

The Organzing Committee intends to provide the scientific community with the opportunity to present their latest results for discussion at a worldwide forum, to create a friendly atmosphere for socializing and strengthening personal ties.

A special attention will be paid to offer young scientists an opportunity to present their work and become stimulating members of the community. The 9th meeting of the EUROFILLERS International Conference will take place in the tradition of the successful previous meetings. Additionally to the main classical topics such as filler modification, compounding, and functional fillers the EUROFILLERS 2011 will focus on fillers for and in elastomers, on rheology of filled polymers and on carbon nanotubes as a high-potential nanofiller.

The discussion of these key topics will be supported by the co-organizers of the conference: The Innovation Alliance Carbon Nanotubes (Inno.CNT) and the European Centre for Nanostructured Polymers (ECNP).
