Research Group Spectroscopy and Microplastics
Optical Spectroscopy and Microplastics Analysis
We use Fourier Transform Infrared and Raman spectroscopy for the qualitative and quantitative polymer analysis. This includes:
- FTIR and Raman microscopy for the characterization of additives, contaminations and inclusions as well as analysis of heterogenic materials
- Confocal Raman microscopy for analysis of polymers, copolymers, materials, deep profiles, 3D, surfaces structures and phase separations
- FTIR- und Raman imaging In-situ and temperature dependent FTIR- und Raman microscopy
- Surface enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS)
- IR measurements at nanoscale (AFM-IR)
- Particle analysis in the range from 1 µm up to cm, including the identification and quantification of microplastics in various matrices
Microplastics Analysis Tool - GEPARD
The GEPARD (Gepard Enabled PARticle Detection) software for combining particle detection and spectroscopic measurements is available from the IPF's Gitlab-Page:
