Dear former IPF PhD students
In the beginning of 2012 the IPF commemotared the 20th anniversary of its foundation. Among all facts and figures we became aware of on this occasion we were quite impressed by this one: About 180 PhD thesis have been elaborated at successfully defended at the institute since then. Names and topics have brought into our minds a lot of positive memories, and we are proud that numerous of our alumni are now working in responsible positions in industry and research, advancing there challenging projects with their knowledge and competences.
The institute wishes to keep alive the contact with its alumni. In many cases personal relationships that developed during the PhD period have ensured that the contact has never broken of completely. However, this internet based platform shall serve to intensify contacts, to reestablish communication weherever lost, and to provide a basis for networking of former IPF PhD students with one another. All these activities may help to benefit from the common background and experiences as well as from current positions and specific qualifications achieved.
Our new platform Alumni@IPF shall be a tool for dialogue and offers, at present, three main features:
- Weblog with interesting news about the IPF and Research in Dresden
- Personalized list of alumni and login for the weblog
- Regular information (newsletter, social networks) for registered members
At present the contact persons for alumni are: Kerstin Wustrack (PR), Matthias Erfurth (IT), and Antonio Reguero and Stefan Schhwurack (FPK).
