Information sessions on the rules for safeguarding good scientific practice and procedures for dealing with scientific misconduct are held for scientific staff members, guests and students at the beginning of their contract at the IPF and at least twice a year at the level of the departments, centers and research areas (as part of the safety briefing).

Thereby, basic principles, regulations, practical aspects/procedural issues and further sources of information on GSP issues are conveyed in detailed presentations in order to familiarize new employees and to refresh basic knowledge. Participation in these training courses is obligatory and knowledge of the contents is documented by signature - analogous to the safety instruction.

The training courses are supplemented and linked with information events on research data management and publication guidelines. At the staff meeting, the ombudsperson informs all employees about the tasks and possibilities of the ombudsperson's work, applicable regulations, their amendment, any problems that may have arisen, or the results of investigations that have been carried out.
