Front Cover published in Macromolecules 2020, 53 (17)

A front cover was published in the current issue of Macromolecules (volume 53, issue 17) featuring the article "End-Adsorbing Chains in Polymer Brushes: Pathway to Highly Metastable Switchable Surfaces" by Markus Koch, Dirk Romeis, and Jens-Uwe Sommer.
The cover illustrates the surface properties, which can be modified in a switchable manner by polymer brushes (blue) containing a minority fraction of longer chains (red) with adsorption-active end groups. External stimuli can induce a transition between the exposed state and the hidden adsorbed state, which are separated by a large free-energy barrier.
