Paper „Polymer hydrogels to guide organotypic and organoid cultures” published
The new paper Polymer hydrogels to guide organotypic and organoid cultures by Valentina Magno, Andrea Meinhardt, Carsten Werner was published in Advanced Functional Materials. The review gives a comprehensive comparative overview on the use of hydrogel-based culture systems for organotypic and organoid cultures, ranging from very complex, multicomponent ECM-derived preparations over simpler biopolymer-based matrices to recombinant, biohybrid and fully synthetic engineered materials. A spotlight is put on the recent progress in the fabrication of fully defined hydrogel systems with thoroughly tunable biochemical and biophysical properties, and on their potentialities to address the persisting challenges of organoid technologies.
